Frequently Asked Elements Hosting Questions
Welcome to the official FAQ for Elements Hosting. This resource is designed to provide you with clear and concise answers to the most common questions.
Whether you’re just getting started or you’re an experienced web hoster, our goal is to make sure you have all the information you need to manage your web hosting successfully and with confidence.
Getting Started & Setup
How do I sign up for a hosting account?
Visit our website here (coming soon) to view our different hosting packages. Select the hosting package the fits your needs and then proceed with the checkout process.
Once your account has been provisioned, you will receive a welcome email containing your account details including all your login and DNS information.
If you encounter any troubles or have any questions before, during, or after the signup process don't hesitate to contact us, we're always happy to help!
Can I move an existing Elements site to Elements Hosting?
Yes! The easiest way is to update your publishing settings in the Elements app to your new Elements Hosting details, and then re-publish your website to your new hosting account with us.
We also offer free website migrations from your old web host to us if needed, just ask and we'll be happy to help!
How do I publish my site from RapidWeaver Elements to my new Elements Hosting account?
Follow our step-by-step tutorial here. It covers publishing your RapidWeaver Elements site directly to Elements Hosting.
How long does it take for my site to go live?
Once your DNS has been pointed to Elements Hosting and has propagated, your site should immediately go live. If you need to update DNS, propagation typically completes within a few minutes to a couple of hours.
Is there a trial or money-back guarantee?
There’s no free trial, but we offer a 30‑day money‑back guarantee on all our hosting packages.
If you purchase/register a domain name with us, those are non-refundable due to the nature of how domain name registrations work. Please choose your domain name carefully, as they cannot be changed or refunded after purchase. Generally domain names are registered annually, and you can select whether to renew them or not.
Domains & DNS
Can you register a domain for me?
Yes. You can register a new domain directly through Elements Hosting, making it easy to get everything set up in one place.
Can I use a domain I already own?
Absolutely. You can connect an existing domain to Elements Hosting, regardless of where it was originally purchased.
If you need help pointing it to your site, we’re happy to assist.
Will you help me set up DNS records?
Yes. We’re happy to help set up or adjust DNS records at no additional cost.
Whether you’re connecting a domain, setting up email, or using a third-party service, our team can guide you through the process or handle it for you.
Can I use subdomains or multiple domains?
Yes. Elements Hosting supports subdomains, addon domains, and domain aliases.
This makes it easy to run multiple sites, create staging or test versions, or manage several domains from a single account.
Can I add or remove domains later?
Yes. You can add or remove domains from your hosting account as your needs change.
Please note that once a domain is registered, it cannot be refunded. However, you’re free to manage, add, or remove domains on your account at any time.
Email
Do you offer email hosting or email accounts?
We don’t offer email hosting. Instead, we focus on delivering excellent website hosting for RapidWeaver Elements.
Email hosting is best handled by dedicated providers (we recommend Fastmail) so we recommend trusted email services that work seamlessly with Elements Hosting. This way, you get a fast, reliable website and dependable email, each handled by specialists.
Which email providers do you recommend?
We recommend Fastmail. You can Sign-up for an account there.
Performance & Reliability
How fast is Elements Hosting?
Elements Hosting is designed to be fast and responsive for websites built with RapidWeaver Elements.
Our servers use modern hardware with NVMe SSD storage and are configured specifically for Elements sites. While we’re continuing to refine performance tuning and gather real-world benchmarks, the goal is simple: quick load times, smooth performance, and a hosting environment that doesn’t get in your way.
Will my site handle traffic spikes?
Most sites will handle normal traffic fluctuations without issue.
For larger or unexpected traffic spikes, performance depends on your hosting plan, server resources, and how your site is optimized. We also use Cloudflare to help absorb bursts of traffic and efficiently deliver content to visitors.
If you expect high or variable traffic, we’re happy to help you choose the right setup.
Is my site hosted on shared or dedicated servers?
We offer both shared and dedicated virtual servers.
Shared hosting is a great fit for many personal sites, portfolios, and small business websites. For sites that need more resources or greater control, dedicated virtual servers provide isolated resources and higher performance.
You can choose the option that best fits your needs and upgrade as your site grows.
Where are your servers located?
Our servers are currently located in the United Kingdom.
As Elements Hosting grows, we plan to expand into additional geographic regions based on customer demand to ensure fast and reliable access for visitors around the world.
Do you use a CDN?
Yes. Elements Hosting integrates with Cloudflare as a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
Cloudflare helps deliver your site’s content more efficiently, improves load times for visitors in different locations, and provides an additional layer of performance and reliability.
Security & Backups
Is my website secure?
Yes. All Elements Hosting sites include free SSL certificates powered by Let’s Encrypt, so your site is served securely over HTTPS by default.
In addition, we use security software and protective measures designed to guard against common threats such as malware, viruses, DDoS attacks, and abusive bot traffic.
Do you protect against malware and attacks?
Yes. Elements Hosting includes multiple layers of protection to help safeguard your website.
This includes malware and virus protection, DDoS mitigation, and bot protection, along with ongoing monitoring to help reduce the risk of attacks and keep your site running smoothly.
Do you provide backups?
Yes. Elements Hosting provides multiple layers of backups to protect your websites and project files, each serving a specific purpose:
Server-level backups are full snapshots of the entire server, stored by our cloud storage provider. These backups are intended for disaster recovery and cannot be used to restore individual files or accounts. They allow recovery of the entire server in the event of a major issue.
Full account backups are stored in our Cloudflare R2 object storage and capture all websites and data within your hosting account. You can restore these backups yourself via the Elements Hosting Reactor Panel, or request a restore from the Elements Hosting team. Individual files cannot be restored from these backups, restoration is always for the entire account.
Project file backups save your RapidWeaver project file each time you publish your site from the Elements app. The backup is stored on your hosting account and overwritten with the most current version after each publish. This ensures you always have an up-to-date copy of your project file available for restoration if needed.
Together, these three backup layers provide comprehensive protection for both your website content and your project files.
Can I restore my site from a backup?
Yes. You’ll be able to restore your site from a full account backup and a project file backup.
This gives you flexibility to recover from mistakes, or restore your site if something unexpected happens.
What happens if something goes wrong?
If something goes wrong, you’re not on your own.
Our team is here to help diagnose the issue, guide you through recovery options, and assist with restoring your site from backups when needed. Because we manage both the hosting platform and understand how Elements sites work, support is faster and more straightforward.
Features & Limits
Are there limits on storage or bandwidth?
Yes. Storage and bandwidth limits are set by the hosting package you choose. Check the plan details to see exact limits, or contact us if you’re unsure which plan fits your site.
Can I host multiple websites?
Yes. Many plans allow multiple websites under the same account. Whether yours does depends on the package; check the plan features or get in touch and we’ll confirm.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. If you need help choosing the right plan or moving sites between plans, our team is happy to assist.
Are there any hidden fees?
No! We do not use “gotcha” tactics. Fees and features are clearly listed in each plan. If anything is unclear, ask us and we’ll explain it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your Elements Hosting account at any time; we don’t lock customers into long-term contracts. If you cancel within the 30‑day money‑back guarantee period, you may be eligible for a refund (see our refund policy for details).
Technical Questions
Do you support custom code or scripts?
Our hosting supports HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and server-side databases. NGINX, PHP, and MariaDB power our platform. If your custom code or scripts fit within that environment they can usually run fine. That said, we can’t officially troubleshoot or maintain custom code. Those details are best handled by your developer. We’re happy to offer guidance where we can, but custom code support is limited.
Can I use third-party services or APIs?
Yes. You can integrate third‑party services and APIs as long as they comply with our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Most common integrations (analytics, payment gateways, external data APIs, etc.) work without issue. If you have a particular service in mind, we can help verify compatibility.
Do you support contact forms?
Yes. RapidWeaver Elements includes a built‑in Contact Form component and it works smoothly with Elements Hosting. If you prefer third‑party form providers or custom form handlers, those can also be used provided they follow our policies.
Support & Help
How can I contact support?
You can contact our support team via email or through our Community Forum.
Both options are monitored by the same team that builds and maintains Elements Hosting and RapidWeaver Elements.
What kind of help does support provide?
Our support team can help with:
• Web hosting–related questions and issues
• Elements-built website issues
• Publishing, domains, DNS, security, and performance questions
Because we manage both the hosting platform and the Elements app, we’re able to provide more direct and effective support than a typical hosting provider.
Are there things support can’t help with?
Yes, there are a few areas outside the scope of our support.
We’re unable to assist with:
• Web design advice or recommendations (these need to be directed to our Community Forum)
• Website development or custom coding tasks (these need to be directed to your web developer)
• Third-party software or services not directly integrated with Elements Hosting
For third-party services we officially work with (such as Cloudflare or our security software), we’re happy to help where possible.
Do you offer onboarding or setup help?
Yes. We’re happy to help you get started.
If you need assistance setting up your hosting, connecting a domain, or publishing your site, our team can guide you through the process.
What are your support hours?

That said, we understand that urgent issues can happen. In emergency situations, such as a website or server outage, we will respond outside of normal support hours when possible.
Do you have documentation or learning resources?
Yes. We offer several ways to find answers and learn more:
• Detailed Help Documents
• Video tutorials on our YouTube channel
• An active Community Forum where users can ask questions and share tips
These resources are a great place to start and are available anytime.
