Video

Add a video to your website

The Video Element is a simple way to add a single video to your website.

How to add Video

You can add YouTube or Vimeo videos by dragging and dropping the URL from your web browser to the Resources area in RapidWeaver Elements.

Supported Video Types

The video component supports the following file types:

  • YouTube

  • Vimeo

  • .mp4

Dropzone

The Video component has a dropzone in the center of it to allow for custom play buttons, text, graphics, and more.

Video Component Settings

Video

Resource: Drop a video file or video url from the Resources Browser into the dropwell.

Options
Description

Autoplay

Set when (or if) the video should play automatically. The following options are available: Immediately, When in Viewport, or Never.

Muted

Set the video to muted by default.

Controls

Hide or show the video player controls. This setting only works with .mp4 files.

Loop

Specify if the video should loop. This setting only works with .mp4 files.

Thumbnail

Set a thumbnail image to be displayed before the video is played.

Options
Description

Mode

Supports the ability to specify an Image for Light & Dark Mode.

Image

Set an image to be displayed as the thumbnail before the video loads. This should be a jpg file.

Description

Sets an Alt tag on the image. Used for SEO and Accessibility.

Overlay

Overlay a colour onto the image, perfect for making dimming the image and makeing the play button "pop".
