Supported Image Formats

Squash can compress JPGs, PNGs, GIFs, and much more to reduce the file size of an image. This is perfect for websites, embedding images into PDFs, saving storage space, or sending images via email.

Optimising the file size of your images shouldn’t mean making them grainy or blurred, read on to learn more about how compression works and what's best for your image type. But first, let's take a quick look at what formats Squash supports.

Squash can open images in the following formats:

  • HEIC

  • PSD

  • AI

  • SVG

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • TIFF

  • RAW

  • DNG

  • GIF

Squash can convert images into the following formats:

  • JPG

  • PNG

    • Crush (Slow, but compressed)

    • Zopfli (Slowest, but most compressed)

    • Standard (Fastest, but larger file size)

  • TIFF

  • WebP

  • AVIF
